We just received this comment over on our MySpace(www.myspace.com/consciousconsuming):
"Thanks for inspriring me to give up on t.v. I havent watched it in a week now. One night i was gazing up at the sky watching the clouds pass and the stars come out and shine. I then realized how much of the world im missing out on. I never want to watch t.v again , its also helping me in school. :)~~Thanks, Tori.
It says so much that there's not really a need for me to add any comments on it! I love that she touches on appreciating nature, having missed out on so much and that it helped important parts of her life when she stopped watching.
What do you think?

Conscious Consuming Events in April 2007
TV Turnoff Week is April 23 - 29 so we've focused our activities around that week:
Wednesday 4/25: Join us as we'll celebrate TV Turnoff Week on Wednesday 4/25.
We'll host an open mic night at All Asia Cafe in Cambridge (334 Mass Ave). There will be music, poetry and a dash of activism from 6 - 9 p.m. The East Boston Makeout Club band promises us they'll be there! $5 cover.
Most of you know that television viewing promotes obesity, violence, and hampers education, but did you ever think about how it promotes overconsumption and squelches political awareness? For disturbing but accurately researched information about how Americans are affected by TV, check out: TV-Turnoff Network/tv facts and figures
